Sylvia Schmelkes is Academic Vice-President of Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. Sylvia is Mexican Sociologist who has published 15 books & over 150 articles & chapters on quality of education, values education, adult education & intercultural education. Sylvia founded & was Coordinator-General of Intercultural & Bilingual Education in the Ministry of Education in Mexico (2001-07). She headed the Institute for Research in the Development of Education at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico (2007-13). She was the first President of the National Institute for the Evaluation of Education.
