Event Description
The current situation has brought us to a VUCA world— Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous. The term "Physical distancing" has been replaced by the undesirable "Social Distancing". As educators, we know that we cannot deny or retreat from the fear this world brings, however, we need to engage with our learners through hope and action to overcome these times and shape an emotionally resilient, more connected and peaceful generation. There is no denying that fostering a culture of peace and global citizenship can be an effective response to shaping the VUCA 2.0 world—Vision, Understanding, Courage and Adaptability.
This crisis can be an opportunity for everyone involved in education (including parents, edupreneurs, school leaders, educators, and young people) to formulate questions that lead us into authentically fresh perspectives and unprecedented inquiries that are truly distinct, yet derived from those we have employed, for some time, in our attempts to elicit visions of and plans for a preferred world. Towards the conceptualization of this vision, we bring to you the 4th Edition of the Online Educational Leadership Forum "Education in the times of Corona" series entitled "Education in the times of Corona: Is preparing for peace and global citizenship a priority?" for educators and school leaders.
