Ashok Pandey, Former-Chair of NPSC Accepts the Chairmanship of the Council for Global Citizenship Ed
Global Citizenship Foundation, a leading non-profit organization fostering an integrated school-wide approach to global citizenship education, welcomes Ashok K Pandey as Chairperson of the Council for Global Citizenship Education.

Ashok Pandey, who has earlier served as the Chairperson of National Progressive Schools’ Conference (NPSC), a leading association of progressive schools in India, will assume the responsibilities as the chairperson of the Council for Global Citizenship Education on 11 February, 2019.
Pandey's tenure as an educator and school leader has spanned over three decades. For the last 16 years, he has been the Principal of Ahlcon International School, ranked among the best schools in India. Pandey is an active partner to the UN’s Act4SDGs campaign and he has been at the forefront of fostering United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals in various schools across India, through his initiative SDG4QEducation.

His mentoring, and leadership style, shall add momentum to our efforts of assisting school leaders and educators in fostering active and engaged global citizenship — within and across the school ecosystems" said Aaryan Salman, President of the Global Citizenship Foundation.
Pandey, an alumnus of Allahabad University and BITS Pilani, is also an author of several articles, projects and research papers. His first book 'The Pedagogical Life-Essays on Educating India', described by many as an educational travelogue, was published in 2017.
He is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award (2017) by Ferguson Humanitarian Foundation International, Inc., (FHFI, USA), Advaith Foundation Leadership Award (2017) and President’s Award’ (2012) for his contribution in the field of education.
Widely travelled, he has led Principals’ delegations to the University of Malta in Europe, the University of Rice in Houston, USA and to the Institute of Leadership, Nottingham, UK. He has also participated in the Australia – India Leadership Dialogue held in Melbourne, Australia.
